Redmi 7 Review: Design and Build

Redmi 7 is the same as the Redmi Y3. According to the latest trends here, with a glass-back finish design, a slight curve has been turned towards the edges and on the front, you can see only the display with a thin bezel and dot nine.

The device gets a good experience when handling it. The fingerprint sensor is given the right place which is fast and accurate. The audio jack and the IR blaster are placed on the upper edge and the micro-USB port is placed below.

The build quality of the device is not something special. Polycarbonate back-cover and touch glass are quite soft, which easily gets fingerprints, then the use of the provided TPU cover in the box becomes very much needed.

Redmi 7 review: Display

Xiaomi has given the same look like the design of Redmi Y3. 19: 9 aspect ratio display with a 6.26-inch size and 720 × 1520 pixel resolution. The display quality looks good by price. With this, MIUI 10 also gives you the option of modifying the display settings according to your choice.

Apart from this, the reading mode given in the settings is also quite impressive, but the use of outdoor use can be called display average.

Redmi 7 Review: Performance and Software

In Redmi 7, you have been given Snapdragon 632 chipset which can be called a good upgrade version of Snapdragon 625 or 425. This chipset cannot be said to be a better performance but with this price, it is the best Snapdragon chipset.

For review, we have used 2GB RAM and 32GB storage warranty. Redmi 7 has also been introduced with a 3GB Ram option. Both Variant comes with a dedicated card slot.

Using Redmi 7 as a primary device for a week, we get to see some slow down performance, but by price, it is better than our expectations, but it is a bit difficult to say that the performance on the long run will remain the same. The device may prove to be a good device for normalizing users but such a user is quite low.

Generally, gaming can be done on the device but games like High-end PubG, Asphalt 9 cannot be played here. Call quality is not as good but it can be said satisfactorily. You have been given Dual 4G VoLTE support in the handset but Dual-band Wi-Fi is not supported.

As usual, Xiaomi's device has been given an Android pie-based MIUI custom skin. Apart from this, you can also delete already installed applications. In the device, you get Facmoji as the default keyboard, but you can also change it from Google Gboard under Settings.

In MIUI, you get to see ads and recommendation but they can be easily disabled.

Redmi 7 Review: Camera Performance

In Redmi 7 you have been given the same dual rear camera setup as Redmi Note 7 or Redmi Y3. Good quality lighting receives image quality good. Performance in indoor or low-light is quite disappointing. There is a lot of detail in the image output and the shutter lag is also available.

On the front side, an 8MP selfie camera is also seen here, which can be said to be normal by price.

Overall, Redmi 7 can be called a satisfying camera phone without having a good camera phone. But considering the cost of the device, this department cannot be expected too much.

Redmi 7 Review: Battery and Audio

Like other Xiaomi phones, a good battery of 4000mAh and 10W charger is given here. The battery backup of the device is quite good but the charging speed is quite slow. The big features of a long battery backup device can be called.

The audio output of this device is really good, it can be said to be moderate in both the speakers or headphones. But considering the price, it can be said to be satisfying.

Redmi 7 Review: Conclusion

The experience of testing of Redmi 7 gets as expected, which was anticipated by this price device. A variant of 2GB RAM can prove to be an option only for those people who use quite a few small applications.

So if your budget is Rs 8,000 and you are a basic user then this device has been introduced for you but if you increase the budget a bit, you can easily consider Note 7 or Realme 3.

Pros

  • Dedicated Card Slots
  • Dual 4G VoLTE
  • Android Pie
  • MIUI 10
  • Amazing Battery backup

Cons

  • Bad Performance
  • MIUI Ads
